| dc.description | The political situation in Catalonia and, with it, all of Spain, has already been, and continues to be, studied from different angles. One of the areas with the greatest social presence due to the speed of dissemination, and ease of manipulation or influence, is the visual communication exercised from journalism on one side, and by social networks on the other. In the context of the analysis of the phenomenon of manipulation or, in any case, of the power to influence citizen opinions through photography, this paper aims to examine a selection of the images published on the illegal referendum of October 1, 2017 in Catalonia. The main goal is to highlight and understand the importance that images acquire in a moment of political crisis and, in addition, how it is possible to manipulate public opinion without technically manipulating images or the shots. | en-US |
| dc.description | La situación política que se vive Cataluña y, con ella, toda España, ya ha sido, y continúa siendo, estudiada desde diferentes ángulos. Uno de los ámbitos con mayor presencia social por la rapidez de difusión, y facilidad de manipulación o influencia, es la comunicación visual ejercida desde el periodismo de un lado, y por las redes sociales de otro. En el contexto del análisis del fenómeno de la manipulación o, en todo caso, del poder de influencia en las opiniones ciudadanas de la fotografía este artículo tiene por objeto examinar una selección de las imágenes publicadas sobre el referéndum ilegal del 1 de octubre de 2017 en Cataluña. El fin último es poner de manifiesto y comprender la importancia que adquieren las imágenes en un momento de crisis política, así como la posible manipulación de la opinión ciudadana que puede conseguirse sin manipular técnicamente las imágenes ni su toma. | es-ES |
