| dc.description | Social platforms for image storing and sharing have proved useful both as online showcases and as long-term personal archives. Particularly on Flickr, the most community-oriented photo repository on the web, users seek to make their photographs publicly available, giving them titles and descriptions and including them in thematic groups to make them easier to find. From a sample of 400 images posted by as many individual users, this small-scale study explores the efforts made by users to facilitate the retrieval and discovery of the personal photographs they post on Flickr. | en-US |
