dc.description	This article examines the conditions of production and the effects of meaning in some of Fito Páez’s earliest songs, emphasizing the discursive, political and historical aspects of his critique of Argentina’s dictatorial regime. After a brief reflection on songs as a research source and the role of national rock, the article analyzes compositions that express relevant features of the political context in Argentina in the early 1980’s.	en-US
