| dc.description | Through the analysis of some papers from the Central State Archive in Rome and the State Archives of Cagliari, the anti-fascist activities by Pio Degioannisare described. Born in Guspini, he was the head of the Communist underground organization called "Core" and was arrested by the fascist police in May 1935. Sentenced to confinement for five years, he was assigned to the island of Ventotene and then transferred for health reasons to Castelli, in the province of Teramo. In 1940 he returned to Sardinia and served under the Army. He took part into the Second World War, serving in Coastal Battalions. | en-US |
| dc.description | Attraverso l’analisi di alcuni fondi documentari custoditi all’Archivio Centrale dello Stato di Roma e all’Archivio di Stato di Cagliari viene ricostruita l’attività antifascista di Pio Degioannis di Guspini. Costui, responsabile dell’organizzazione comunista clandestina detta “Nucleo”, venne scoperto e arrestato dalla polizia del regime nel maggio del 1935. Condannato al confino per cinque anni, fu assegnato all’isola di Ventotene per poi essere trasferito, per motivi di salute, a Castelli, in provincia di Teramo. Nel 1940, concluso il periodo di confino, rientrò in Sardegna e fu richiamato alle armi. Partecipò al secondo conflitto mondiale, prestando servizio nei Battaglioni Costieri. | it-IT |
