| dc.description | L’élément espagnol est essentiel en Argentine. Cela s’explique par des facteurs historiques, démographiques et culturels. Le passé colonial apparaît comme le facteur le plus évident pour expliquer les liens avec l’Espagne. Il ne faut cependant pas lui accorder une importance démesurée car l’Argentine est davantage le fruit de changements introduits par la Grande- Bretagne et la France que de l’héritage colonial de l’Espagne. Plus déterminant semble le facteur démographique puisque, dans les années 1930 et 1940, la communauté espagnole représente 10% de la population totale, soit deux millions d’individus. Sur le plan culturel, on notera l’importance de l’Espagne sur les courants de pensée argentins. Ainsi, certaines figures telles que Unamuno, Ganivet et Ortega y Gasset ont exercé un poids considérable sur les orientations adoptées par les intellectuels argentins depuis le début du XXe siècle. C’est donc assez naturellement que, l’heure du départ en exil venue, de nombreux intellectuels espagnols choisissent l’Argentine comme terre d’accueil. Au travers de maisons d’édition, de revues, de chaires universitaires et de cercles littéraires, les intellectuels espagnols vont entreprendre de dénoncer le franquisme depuis l’exil. | fr-FR |
| dc.description | The Spanish element is essential in Argentina. This is due to historical, demographic and cultural factors. The colonial past is the most evident reason which explains the bonds with Spain. However, we should not focus too exclusively on this since Argentina is the result of many changes brought by both Great Britain and France rather than of the Spanish colonial heritage. Nonetheless, the demographic factor seems more relevant though, since back in the 1930s and the 1940s the Spanish population represented 10% of the total population, e.g. two million people. From a cultural point of view, we may outline the importance of Spain on the Argentinean ways of thinking. Therefore, certain figures such as Unamuno, Ganivet and Ortega y Gasset had a measurable influence on the ways of thinking of Argentinean intellectuals from the beginning of the 20th century. Consequently, it seems quite natural that when they were forced to exile, many Spanish intellectuals chose Argentina as their host country. Throughout publishing houses, magazines, and in universities and literary circles, Spanish intellectuals began to denounce Franco's regime after their exile. | en-US |
