In this essay, the author places into context the life and work of Enrique Noriega, the Guatemalan poet born in 1946. His intense oeuvre shows the difficult coexistence of literature and politics in Guatemala throughout recent decades. Noriega belongs to what is known as the Generation of 1970. He was honored by the Republic of Guatemala with the National Literature Prize in 2010.
En el presente trabajo se ponen en contexto la vida y obra de Enrique Noriega, poeta nacido en Guatemala en 1946; a través de su intensa obra se muestra la difícil convivencia entre la literatura y la política en dicho país durante las últimas décadas. Noriega pertenece a la conocida como Generación del Setenta y fue galardonado con el Premio Nacional de Literatura 2010 otorgado por la República de Guatemala.
