| dc.description | Using the notion of heritage, the article analyzes the way people classify certain goods as inalienable, especially in contexts involving controversy over limited resources. Although this type of approach is useful for a variety of cases of study, the paper focuses on the way the inhabitants of a region known as Sierra de Catorce, in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí, —an area that attracts Catholic pilgrims, indigenous Huichol people, tourists and mining companies— seek to control access to their natural resources through political organizations linking regional identity with mining work. | en-US |
| dc.description | Recurriendo al concepto de patrimonio, analizo cómo es que las personas clasifican ciertos bienes como inalienables en escenarios de controversia sobre la apropiación de recursos. Aunque esta perspectiva es pertinente para analizar una variedad de casos, la investigación se centra en cómo los habitantes de la Sierra de Catorce, San Luis Potosí, México —un territorio ubicado al norte del estado potosino que atrae a peregrinos católicos, indígenas huicholes, turistas y empresas mineras— buscan mantener el control sobre sus recursos a través de la creación de organizaciones políticas que vinculan la identidad regional con el trabajo minero. | es-ES |
