| dc.description | The text seeks to address the ambivalent results of the designation of Páramo de Santurbán as a Regional Natural Park, essentially because of the protests related to environmental preservation. After an introduction in which the subject of the territory and the global economy is theoretically located, a brief recount is given of the location and relevant characteristics of the Santurbán region, located in the northeastern part of Colombia, as well as of the gestation and particularities of the social and political mobilization against possible mining exploitation by the Canadian multinational Grey Star —now Eco Oro— in that area. A description is then provided of the confrontations between the Colombian State and the environmental fighters to denominate this territory the Regional Natural Park. Lastly, the author examines the consequences and challenges of this designation are studied in greater depth, where uncertainty and ambivalence reign where it was thought there would be generalized well-being. | en-US |
| dc.description | En el texto se pretende abordar los ambivalentes resultados de la designación del Páramo de Santurbán como Parque Natural Regional, en virtud esencialmente de las protestas en defensa de la preservación del medio ambiente. Después de una introducción donde se ubica teóricamente el tema del territorio y la economía global, se transita hacia un breve recuento dela ubicación y características relevantes de la región de Santurbán, situada en el nororiente colombiano, así como de la gestación y particularidades de la movilización social y política contra la posible explotación minera por parte de la multinacional Canadiense Grey Star —ahora Eco Oro— en esa zona. A continuación, se presenta el trasegar y los enfrentamientos entre el Estado colombiano y los luchadores medioambientales para denominar este territorio Parque Natural Regional. Por último, se profundiza sobre las secuelas y desafíos que ha presentado esta designación, en tanto la incertidumbre y las ambivalencias reinan donde se pensaba que iba a existir un bienestar generalizado. | es-ES |
