dc.description	Durante el periodo colonial, figuras como la del religioso y la del cura de almas, intentaron llevar siempre una vida ejemplar, pues conformaban el brazo derecho de la Corona española y eran los portadores de las normas y parámetros de la conducta cristiana y del sentido de la moral. ¿Pero, qué pasaba cuando estos hombres sucumbían a su debilidad humana? ¿O cuando escasos de vocación se aprovechaban de su investidura para perpetrar “tratos deshonestos”? Este trabajo se centra en el caso de los clérigos solicitantes del obispado de Michoacán, uno de los males padecidos por la Iglesia novohispana en general y que el Tribunal del Santo Oficio no dudó en castigar severamente.Clergy accused of the crime of Solicitation by the Holy Office in the Bishopric of Michoacan, 1731-1794During the colonial period, church officials such as priests and bishops usually sought to keep their image clean and activities morally impeccable since they were considered to be the Spanish Crown’s right arm and established the moral rules and parameters of Christian behavior. But what happened when these exemplary functionaries incurred in “human weakness”? Or when they took advantage of their position to commit shameful actions? This essay analyses the cases of members of the diocese of Michoacan accused of solicitation, a charge that the Holy Office was always swift to investigate.	es-ES
