dc.description	Resumen:Este trabajo busca explicar cómo la cartografía histórica es útil para la reconstrucción de los procesos históricos de demarcación de límites territoriales del estado de Durango y los conflictos derivados de estos procesos. El texto pone énfasis en las tensiones surgidas entre distintas capas de organización territorial a finales del siglo XIX, refiriéndose básicamente a tres: la propiedad de la tierra, los componentes naturales y la división político-administrativa. La atención se centra en ponderar la riqueza informativa y la utilidad de la valiosa colección cartográfica Pastor Rouaix resguardada en la Mapoteca Manuel Orozco y Berra. Dicha colección se conforma de 583 planos acopiados por los ingenieros Pastor Rouaix y Carlos Patoni, en su mayoría relacionados con la propiedad de la tierra en el estado de Durango.Palabras clave: Cartografía, propiedad, territorio, demarcaciones, historia. Recepción: 22 de enero de 2021 Aceptación: 6 de abril de 2021 Abstract: This paper explains how historical cartography is useful for reconstructing the historical processes of demarcation of territorial limits of the state of Durango and the conflicts derived from these processes. The text emphasizes the tensions that arose between different layers of territorial organization by the end of the 19th century, referring basically to three of them: land ownership, natural components, and political and administrative divisions. The text focuses attention on pondering the wealth of information and the usefulness of the valuable Pastor Rouaix Cartographic Collection, kept in the Manuel Orozco y Berra Map Library. This collection consists of 583 maps collected by the engineers Pastor Rouaix and Carlos Patoni, most of them related to property ownership in the state of Durango.Key words: Cartography, property, territory, demarcations, history.	es-ES
