| dc.description | Desde un inicio, el régimen revolucionario mexicano dio un importante respaldo a los sargentos revolucionarios que en 1933 derrocaron a la dictadura de Gerardo Machado. Gran parte de la virtual alianza entre los sargentos cubanos y el gobierno mexicano, se basó en la buena relación que Fulgencio Batista, el líder de los sargentos, tenía con México. Tras su golpe de Estado de 1952, el trato paulatinamente se fue deteriorando, pasando de la sincera amistad a la fría desconfianza. El presente artículo intenta exponer cómo se fue dando este proceso. Este trabajo está basado, fundamentalmente, en documentos del Archivo Histórico Genaro Estrada de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores de México.Batista and Mexico: From True Friendship to Cold DistrustFrom the beginning the Mexican revolutionary regime gave important support to the revolutionary sergeants, who in 1933 overthrew the dictatorship of Gerardo Machado. Much of the virtual alliance between the Cuban sergeants and the Mexican government was based on the close ties Fulgencio Batista, the leader of the sergeants, had with Mexico. After his coup d’etat in 1952, the relationship gradually deteriorated, moving from friendship to cold distrust. Primarily using data collected in the Genaro Estrada Archives of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, this article explains how this process occurred. | es-ES |
