dc.description	Recepción: 5 de julio de 2021 Aceptación: 23 de septiembre de 2021Resumen:Este artículo explora la vida de cinco jefes y oficiales del ejército mexicano durante la primera mitad del siglo XIX (para ser precisos entre los años 1819 a 1848). La finalidad es explicar cómo a través de las hojas de servicio militar (fuentes primarias) se pueden dibujar aspectos de la vida castrense de los soldados. De esta manera, se busca proponer a la prosopografía como una herramienta interpretativa que ayude a la historiografía militar a comprender la experiencia del ejército como institución, así como la guerra. A su vez, que ayude a fomentar una visión holística de la historia.Palabras clave: Guerra, ejército mexicano, siglo XIX, prosopografía, metodología, hojas de servicio militar.Notes about prosopography within the Mexican army in the first half of the 19th century. An analitical proposalAbstract:This article explores the lives of five commanders and officers of the Mexican army during the first half of the 19th century (to be precise between 1819 and 1848). The objective is to demonstrate how, through the military service records (primary sources), one may portray aspects of the soldiers’ military life. It uses prosopography as an interpretive tool to develop military historiography’s understanding of the experience of the army as an institution, as well as an implement of war. In turn, this article fosters a more holistic view of history.Key words: War, Mexican army, 19th century, prosopography, methodology, military service records.	es-ES
