| dc.description | El presente estudio analiza las finanzas municipales del ayuntamiento de San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, en el Porfiriato. En el trabajo se hace un examen de la estructura de los ingresos y egresos del Ayuntamiento. Se analiza como el Ayuntamiento sancristobalense perdió su poder económico entre finales del siglo XIX y la primera década del XX con el proceso de la centralización de los recursos económicos impulsado por el gobierno federal. Esta pérdida se muestra a través de la intervención de esta autoridad y la del ejecutivo estatal en el cobro de los principales impuestos que correspondieron al municipio. Asimismo se presentan las reacciones opositoras de los contribuyentes por el sistema impositivo municipal, así como las medidas que debió tomar el Ayuntamiento para poder hacer efectiva la percepción de los gravámenes. Municipal Finances in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, during the PorfiriatoThis article analyses municipal finances in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, in the Porifirato. The work examines the city council's income and expenditure. Throughout the text, we point out the way in which the city council lost its economic power at the end of the 19th century through the first decade of the 20th as a result of the centralisation of economic management implemented by the federal government. This loss of economic power can be seen through the policy of intervention both by federal and state authorities in the collection of the main city council's taxes. Likewise this paper demonstrates taxpayers' opposition to the municipal tax system, as well as the steps taken by the city council to asure the collection of revenue. | es-ES |
