| dc.description | En los poblados nahuas de la región de las Altas Montañas (centro de Veracruz, México), el catolicismo costumbrista y un esquema de organización social que integraba en un solo universo simbólico lo cívico y lo religioso, se había manifestado con relativa homogeneidad hasta principios de los años ochentas del siglo XX. Si bien en contadas localidades ya se registraba la presencia de iglesias evangélicas, la diferenciación religiosa fue más notable desde de la última década del siglo XX, en un contexto de crisis de la relación entre población y acceso a la tierra y de intensificación de los flujos migratorios transnacionales. A partir de un estudio de caso, este trabajo se propone ejemplificar el desarrollo de las organizaciones evangélicas —sobre todo pentecostales— en este marco de redefinición de las dinámicas étnicas. Diversification of the Religious Field in Astacinga, VeracruzIn the Nahua villages of the High Mountains region (in the center of the state of Veracruz), a form of customary Catholicism and a scheme of social organization which integrated the civic and the religious in a single symbolic universe predominated until the 1980s. Although one could then already observe the presence of certain evangelical churches in some districts, the phenomenon of religious differentiation became increasingly visible in the 1990s in a context of crisis in relation to land, increasing social inequality and an intensification of transnational migration. Based on a case study, this article illustrates the expansion of evangelical organizations, in particular Pentecostal ones, within the context of a redefinition of interethnic dynamics. | es-ES |
