| dc.description | El presente artículo intenta situar el tema del cambio climático en el contexto de la geografía histórica. La tesis que aquí se sustenta es que enfrentamos procesos de muy larga duración, que incluso nos rebasan, de tal manera que influir sobre ellos puede resultar muy discutible. El tema de cambio climático ha sido manejado como si éste fuera el causante de los desastres naturales que estamos viviendo, soslayando el activo papel humano en los procesos de contaminación de la atmósfera, del agua, de la tierra. Una política de conservación medioambiental tal vez no modifique el clima a corto plazo, pero sí, y esto es lo más importante, haga de nuestro planeta un lugar de residencia sano, no sólo para el ser humano, sino para todas las especias animales y vegetales que lo habitamos.Climatic Change in the Historical Geography PerspectiveThe following article tries to analyze the problem of climatic change from the perspective of historical geography. This paper states that we are facing long term process which exceeds our understanding capacities as human beings. Because of that, this situation is very arguable. Climatic change has been considered as responsible of current disasters. As a result, the role of the human being as an active element in the process of global pollution, has been rejected. Perhaps an environmental policy does not modify, in a short term period, climatic changes, but perhaps it will make our planet a healthy place for living, not only for human beings, but also for animals and vegetal species. | es-ES |
