Mining in Colombia has become one of the main sources of income for the economy, but its irrational use has caused a detriment to the environment. In the municipality of Condoto in the department of Chocó, mining can be protected by titles that are granted to multinational corporations with no knowledge of the fundamental rights of the community. Among these, the right to enjoy a healthy environment is violated, as the necessary measures to mitigate and compensate for damages to the environment are not adopted.La minería se ha convertido en Colombia en una de las principales fuentes de ingreso para la economía, pero su uso irracional ha ocasionado un detrimento al ambiente. En el municipio de Condoto, enel departamento del Chocó, se desarrolla la minería amparada, en algunos casos, por títulos otorgados a empresas multinacionalescon el desconocimiento de los derechos fundamentales de la comunidad. Entre estos, el derecho a gozar de un ambiente sano es vulnerado, porque no se adoptan las medidas necesarias para mitigar y compensar las afectaciones y daños causados al medio ambiente.
