Título : Las marchas de los cocaleros del departamento de Caquetá, Colombia: contradicciones políticas y obstáculos a la emancipación social
Palabras clave : Estudios Agrarios;FARC;drug;marches;Caquetá;Colombia
Editorial : Pontificia Universidad Javeriana
Descripción : "The analysis made in this paper about the coca growers? marches occurred in Caqueta in 1996, shows the difficulties of social emancipation in the Colombian context of war and illegal crops. The process of peasant colonization in the Colombian Amazon region is put into context, with special emphasis on the consolidation (1969-1980) and destabilization(from 1980 on) stages. This framework provides background information for coca growers? marches in which four main actors can be identified (coca growers, drug-traffickers, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia ?farc? and the government), each of them having a political project in mind. Marches evidence the weakness of the Caquetá peasantmovement and the difficulties to be independent from farc in the fight against the national government?s policy of coca plantation eradication. The division of the political and military power in the region makes organized social emancipation even more difficult. The alternative organized peasants have is to resist daily, without confrontation and withouthaving a feasible project, all dominant actors."
