Descripción :	El presente artículo, sintetiza un proceso investigativo que arroja como resultado el diseño de modelo para el desarrollo de competencias investigativas en estudiantes de educación a distancia de la Universidad de Córdoba; la cual se realizó en el marco de la Maestría en Elearning que ofrece la UNAB en convenio con la UOC. El problema se centra en comprender y explicar cómo se está implementando la investigación formativa en los programas de pregrado que ofrecen universidades bajo la modalidad de educación a distancia y e-learning. El cual se ve reflejado en el déficit de investigadores que posee Colombia, comparado con otros países del contexto latinoamericano y mundial. La población objeto de estudio pertenece al ranking publicado por el Laboratorio de Internet del CINDOC (2009), aplicándoles un formato construido bajo el enfoque descriptivo, a través del cual se pudo identificar variables significativas que permitieron diseñar estrategias investigativas coherentes con los aspectos misionales y visionales de la institución y de los programas académicos; en los resultados obtenidos se evidencia aspectos relevantes en función a interfaz, información académica, administrativa e investigativa; navegabilidad y fundamentalmente variables estructurales que muestran y proyectan la forma en que se desarrollan los procesos investigativo de las universidades objeto de estudio; lo que permitió diseñar el modelo propuesto. CONCLUSIONES Y RECOMENDACIONES 57 BIBLIOGRAFIA 59 ANEXOS Maestría This article synthesizes a research process that results in the design of a model for the development of research skills in distance education students at the University of Córdoba; which was carried out within the framework of the Master in Elearning offered by UNAB in agreement with the UOC. The problem focuses on understanding and explaining how formative research is being implemented in undergraduate programs offered by universities under the modality of distance education and e-learning. Which is reflected in the deficit of researchers that Colombia has, compared to other countries in the Latin American and global context. The population under study belongs to the ranking published by the CINDOC Internet Laboratory (2009), applying a format built under the descriptive approach, through which it was possible to identify significant variables that allowed the design of research strategies consistent with missionary and vision aspects of the institution and academic programs; In the results obtained, relevant aspects are evidenced based on the interface, academic, administrative and research information; navigability and fundamentally structural variables that show and project the way in which the research processes of the universities under study are developed; which allowed to design the proposed model.
