Descripción :	Les sociétés rurales anciennes de Corse comme de Sardaigne sont caractérisées par de fortes inégalités, d'une part physique, dues à des contrastes entre des plaines ou coteaux à fort potentiel agronomiques et des montagnes rocailleuses, et d'autre part foncières, avec la concentration des terres par des notables ruraux. Prendre en compte ces inégalités grâce à une approche en termes de systèmes agraires étagés permet d'éclairer les dynamiques contradictoires des agricultures des deux îles. Les travaux de Giuseppe Doneddu donnent toutefois une avance à la recherche sarde grâce à ses travaux sur la formation des classes rurales aisées en Sardaigne à l'époque moderne, leur accaparement du bétail et progressivement la concentration du foncier pastoral dans leurs mains. Dans l’autre île, pourtant elle-même agro-pastorale, « une voie corse vers le développement » basé sur les cultures pérennes plutôt que l’élevage se dessine et façonne le paysage. The ancient rural societies of Corsica and Sardinia are characterised by strong inequalities, on the one hand physical, due to contrasts between plains or hillsides with high agronomic potential and rocky mountains, and on the other hand land, with the concentration of land by rural notables. Taking these inequalities into account through an approach in terms of layered agrarian systems sheds light on the contradictory dynamics of agriculture on the two islands. The work of Giuseppe Doneddu, however, gives Sardinian research a head start thanks to his work on the formation of the wealthy rural classes in Sardinia in the modern era, their monopolisation of livestock and the gradual concentration of pastoral land in their hands. On the other island, which is itself agro-pastoral, a "Corsican path to development" based on perennial crops rather than live stock is taking shape and shaping the landscape.
