| Descripción : | Teaching and research activities have led universities to gather a very important cultural and scientific heritage. These university collections are little known to the public and many times, despite being made up of very similar materials, they appear scattered in the different information units in which university centers are organized: libraries, archives and museums, among others. The trend named GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) is aware of what unites these entities and calls for developing joint actions and presenting their heritage in a unitary way. It is studied whether the GLAM trend has penetrated the 33 best-positioned European universities in the ARWU ranking (2019). For this, their heritage websites are analyzed to see how they are organized for the treatment of their collections and if libraries and archives have a space in them. The results of the study allow us to conclude that the university heritage is still scattered, and that only since the end of the 20th century, thanks to the possibilities of the Internet, have they really started to collaborate. However, libraries and archives still have a too small role and even a low presence on the webs that show this inheritance. It would be desirable to take better advantage of the knowledge in information processing of these institutions and a system is proposed that would allow an improvement of the conditions of cultural and scientific heritage with the support of a large part of the university community and with a relevant role of libraries and files. Las actividades de docencia e investigación han llevado a las universidades a reunir un considerable patrimonio cultural y científico. Estas colecciones universitarias son poco conocidas por el gran público y muchas veces, pese a estar compuestas por materiales muy similares, aparecen dispersas en las diferentes unidades de información en que se organizan los centros universitarios: bibliotecas, archivos y museos, entre otros. La corriente GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) es consciente de aquello que une a estas entidades y llama elaborar acciones conjuntas y a presentar de forma unitaria su riqueza patrimonial. Se estudia si la tendencia GLAM ha penetrado en las 33 universidades europeas mejor posicionadas en el ranquin ARWU (2019). Para ello se analizan sus sitios web patrimoniales con el fin de ver como se organizan para el tratamiento de sus colecciones y si las bibliotecas y los archivos, tienen un espacio en ellos. Los resultados del estudio permiten concluir que el patrimonio universitario sigue disperso, y que solo desde finales del siglo XX, gracias a las posibilidades de Internet, empiezan a colaborar realmente. Sin embargo, bibliotecas y archivos tienen aún un papel demasiado reducido e incluso una baja presencia en las webs que presentan esta herencia. Sería deseable aprovechar mejor los conocimientos en tratamiento de la información de estas instituciones y se propone un sistema que permitiría una mejora de las condiciones de la herencia cultural y científica con el apoyo de gran parte de la comunidad universitaria y con un papel relevante de bibliotecas y archivos. |
