| dc.description | El texto conjunto que escriben Steven Palmer e Iván Molina, "La Voluntad Radiante", es el libro que se analiza en este comentario. Este forma parte de una rica tradición dentro de la historia, la cual se debilitó por algún tiempo y hoy pareciera, vuelve a resurgir: el recuento biográfico. "La Voluntad Radiante" es un buen e importante intento en ligar individuo y sociedad dado que más que presentar a dos personajes: un tipógrafo catalán y a un curandero charlatán, en realidad lo que hacen es retratar la historia un tanto institucional y todavía "desde arriba" de dos quehaceres, el de la imprenta y el de la medicina y la farmacopea; y aunque el libro se divide en dos partes, cada una de ellas dedicada a uno de los personajes, hay una secuencia en el método de exposición de resultados. | |
| dc.description | The text written by Steven Palmer and Iván Molina, "The Radiant Will", is the book analyzed in this commentary. It is part of a rich tradition within history, which weakened for some time and now seems to be re-emerging: the biographical account. "The Radiant Will" is a good and important attempt to link individual and society, given that rather than presenting two characters: a Catalan typographer and a quack healer, in reality what they do is to portray the somewhat institutional and still "top-down" history of two professions, that of printing and that of medicine and pharmacopoeia; and although the book is divided into two parts, each of them dedicated to one of the characters, there is a sequence in the method of exposition of the results. | |
