| dc.description | This article, through longitudinal research in the research data of the World Values Survey Institute, sought to confirm the following hypotheses: 1. There is a positive association between the crime rate or the feeling of insecurity and support for less democratic forms of government; and 2. Confidence rates in democratic institutions behave in a negative association with support rates for less democratic forms of government. However, not only both hypotheses were refuted, but also the data showed that the premises themselves were inconsistent with reality. | en-US |
| dc.description | Mediante una investigación longitudinal con datos del instituto World Values Survey, el presente artículo busca confirmar las siguientes hipótesis: 1. Hay una asociación positiva entre el miedo del crimen o la sensación de inseguridad y el apoyo a formas menos democráticas de gobierno; y 2. Las tasas de confianza en las instituciones democráticas se comportan en una asociación negativa con las tasas de apoyo a formas menos democráticas de gobierno. Sin embargo, no solo se refutaron ambas hipótesis, sino que los datos mostraron que las premisas en sí mismas eran inconsistentes con la realidad. | es-ES |
