Abundância sazonal de Sturnella superciliaris (Bonaparte, 1850) no Aeroporto Internacional de Parnaíba/PI
Palabras clave : Polícia-inglesa-do-sul;sazonalidade;aeronaves
Editorial : Federal University of Piauí
Descripción : This survey was conducted in order to evaluate the occurrence and seasonality of White-browed-Blackbird, Sturnella superciliaris in Parnaíba International Airport, in view of the risk of collisionsbetween birds and aircraft. The constancy index of species was 99.5%, with the highest meannumber of individuals recorded during the rainy season in the region, in April 2011, with 152individuals. Although S. superciliaris landed or crossed the runway in large flocks, there were nocollisions involving this species, which is probably due to the small air traffic at the airport.

Embora S. superciliaris pouse e cruze em grandes bandos na pista doaeroporto, não foram registrados colisões envolvendo a espécie, o que provavelmente se deve aopequeno tráfego aéreo no aeroporto. Seasonal abundance of Sturnella superciliaris (Bonaparte, 1850) in InternationalAirport of Parnaíba, Piaui, BrazilAbstractThis survey was conducted in order to evaluate the occurrence and seasonality of White-browed-Blackbird, Sturnella superciliaris in Parnaíba International Airport, in view of the risk of collisionsbetween birds and aircraft.
