Descripción :	Se evalúan las asociaciones entre ruralidad e ingreso con el voto a favor del Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV) en el nivel municipal en las elecciones de 2008 y 2010. Se encuentra que la relación entre ruralidad y voto por ese partido no es tan clara como algunas evaluaciones generales lo muestran. La asociación con ingreso es fuerte,significativa y curvilínea. El método se basa principalmenteen definiciones operacionales, con datos tomados del Censo 2001 y del Consejo Nacional Electoral, y evaluados con técnicas de regresión y correlación.Rurality, Income and Voting within the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in 2008 and 2010AbstractIn this paper, I assess the relationship between rurality and income, and the electoral outcome of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in the 2008 and 2010 elections. My findings show that the link between rurality and that party’s result is notas clear as shown by some general commentaries.The link with income is strong, significant and curvilinear.The method is mainly based on operational definitions, using data from the 2001 Census and the National Electoral Council, and tested by regression and correlation techniques.
