Descripción :	El estudio del grupo Otaku desde la teoría de las identidades sociales permite un acercamiento a uno de los grupos emergentes en la Isla. El problema científico que orienta esta investigación cuestiona lo que caracteriza la identidad social de un grupo de Otakus en Cuba durante el período de mayo a octubre del 2022. El objetivo general deviene caracterizar dicha identidad. La metodología seleccionada es mixta. Para la fase cuantitativa el diseño es no experimental, mientras que para la fase cualitativa es fenomenológico. La población estudiada corresponde al universo otakus; las muestras son sujetos otakus, documentos y materiales de origen nacional que referencien a los otakus y expertos sobre el tema. El instrumento principal de investigación es el cuestionario de identidades sociales. Adicionalmente, se aplicaron entrevistas a miembros, a expertos y observación participante en los eventos de la comunidad Otaku. The study of the Otaku group from the scope of the theory of Social Identities allows an approach to one of those groups. The scientific problem that guides this investigation posits the question, What characterizes the social identity of a group of Otakus in Cuba during the time span of May-October 2022? The applied methodology is by its type a mixed one. For the quantitative phase the design is non-experimental, while the qualitative phase shows a phenomenological approach. The surveyed population belongs to the Otaku universe, the sampled source consists on experts on the field, Otaku subjects, documents and content that refers to the Otaku group. The main instrument of the research is the Social Identities survey. Also relevant to the study were the interviews addressed to members of the group and experts, as well as the notes derived from participative observation of special events in the Otaku community.
