dc.descriptionThe questioning about the representation of woman in literature and about literature written by women is present in Montserrat Roig’s literary composition. In her essay book Dime que me quieres aunque sea mentira (1991), besides texts focused on the act of writing, on the process of writing, on the representation of memory and also on the representation of Catalan culture and identity, there are two essays presented separately under the title of “La mirada tuerta” which deal with woman particularly as literary representation and with the position of women writers in literature. This work analyzes one of these essays: “El Uno y la otra” which is divided into three parts dealing, first, with the representation of woman. Then, it exams one vision about feminism and women as writers and, finally, it makes some remarks about the current scenery related to feminine writing in literature. The purpose here is the analysis of the essay, considering the way the text sets itself both in relation to woman in literature and in relation to alterity and feminist criticism which was well developed in the 20th century by writers such as Simone de Beauvoir, Kate Millet and Elaine Showalter among others.en-US
dc.descriptionO questionamento acerca da representação da mulher na literatura e da literatura escrita por mulheres é recorrente na obra de Montserrat Roig. Em seu livro de ensaios Dime que me quieres aunque sea mentira (1991), além de textos focados no ofício e no processo de escrita, na representação da memória e na representação da cultura e identidade catalã, há dois ensaios, apresentados em um apartado denominado “La mirada tuerta”, que tratam particularmente da mulher como representação literária e do espaço ocupado pelas mulheres escritoras na literatura. Este trabalho desenvolverá a análise de um desses ensaios, o primeiro, denominado “El Uno y la otra”, que está dividido em três partes que marcam um percurso que parte das representações da mulher, passando por uma visão acerca do feminismo e das mulheres como escritoras e, finalmente, se encerrando ao tecer considerações sobre o cenário atual da literatura de autoria feminina. O que se propõe aqui é uma análise do ensaio que a forma como o texto se posiciona não só em relação à mulher na literatura, mas também em relação à alteridade e à crítica feminista, bastante desenvolvida no século XX, com escritoras como Simone de Beauvoir, Kate Millet e Elaine Showalter, entre outras.pt-BR
