Descripción :	The aim of this study is to compare England, My England, by D. H. Lawrence, with England, England, by Julian Barnes, to examine how the question of cultural identity and national culture are inscribed in these works and contribute to the representation of the notion of Englishness and reveal themselves constructs created from a speech that gives sense, influences and organizes the actions of the individuals and the conception we have about ourselves. O objetivo deste trabalho é comparar England, My England, de D. H. Lawrence, com England, England, de Julian Barnes, para examinar como a questão da identidade cultural e a da cultura nacional se inscrevem nessas obras, contribuem para a representação da noção de inglesidade e se revelam como construtos oriundos de um discurso que dá sentidos, influencia e organiza as ações dos indivíduos e a concepção que temos de nós mesmos.
