| Descripción : | El turismo en el norte del Tolima ha estado desarrollándose con el objetivo de volverse un pilar en el desarrollo económico en los municipios de Falan y San Sebastián de Mariquita. Es por esta razón que en la presente investigación se pretende conocer la gestión sostenible que hay en 4 destinos turísticos característicos en esta región. Debido a la dificultad que hay para recoger datos cuantitativos de estos destinos, se optó por hacer una investigación cualitativa por medio de entrevistas semiestructuradas a 2 destinos del municipio de Falan (Ciudad Perdida y La Reserva Ranita Dorada) y 2 destinos del municipio de San Sebastián de Mariquita (Ecoparque Cataratas de Medina y La Reserva Forestal Protectora de las Quebradas El Peñón y San Juan). Estos destinos fueron elegidos ya que se encuentran señalados como destinos importantes en el Plan de Desarrollo municipal 2020-2023 de los 2 municipios. El análisis de la gestión sostenible se hizo en base a indicadores seleccionados a partir de los criterios de sostenibilidad creados por el Consejo Global de Turismo Sostenible para destinos (GSTC-D). Los resultados encontrados en esta investigación mostraron que el desarrollo de estos destinos turísticos presenta grandes retos si se quiere lograr un desarrollo de turismo sostenible debido a las dificultades encontradas para poder articular todas las variables presentes en la planificación turística que se le da a cada destino. Tourism in northern Tolima has been developing with the aim of becoming a pillar in economic development in the municipalities of Falan and San Sebastián de Mariquita. It is for this reason that in the present investigation it is intended to know the sustainable management that exists in 4 characteristic tourist destinations in this region. Due to the difficulty in collecting quantitative data from these destinations, it was decided to carry out a qualitative research through semi-structured interviews with 2 destinations in the municipality of Falan (Ciudad Perdida and La Reserva Ranita Dorada) and 2 destinations in the municipality of San Sebastián de Mariquita (Cataratas de Medina Ecopark and the Protective Forest Reserve of the El Peñón and San Juan Ravines). These destinations were chosen as they are identified as important destinations in the Municipal Development Plan 2020-2023 of the 2 municipalities. The analysis of sustainable management was made based on indicators selected from the sustainability criteria created by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council for destinations (GSTC-D). The results found in this research showed that the development of these tourist destinations presents great challenges if you want to achieve sustainable tourism development due to the difficulties encountered in being able to articulate all the variables present in the tourism planning that is given to each destination.
