dc.description | Internalizing and externalizing psychopathologies are associated with cognitive rumination according to the transdiagnostic model, however, in this second group of problems this association still requires research advances in the field. The objective of this study was to demonstrate in a systematic and structured way, recent research on the relationship between externalizing psychopathology and cognitive rumination. A systematic review was conducted based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. Published studies that appear in databases that met the eligibility criteria proposed for the study were taken, in addition, a rating system by judges was used as bias control. In the final selection, 17 purified research articles of 7314 initially selected were obtained. The results showed that maladaptive, aggressive behaviors, high tone of voice, disproportionate alcohol intake, psychomotor agitation and disobedience, are associated with cognitive rumination, which in turn shows a high correlation with anger, as a predecessor of externalizing behavior. On the other hand, it was found that factors such as anxiety, stress, irritability, fear and negative work experiences, trigger an increase in cognitive rumination, and lead to behavioral imbalances given the lack of resources in coping strategies and self-control, particularly, in the face of the provocation and emotional response of anger. Keywords: Systematic review, rumination, outsourcing, psychopathology, aggression. | en-US |
| pt-BR |
