Descripción :	El presente artículo es resultado de la investigación cuyo eje central estudia la novela policial/novela negra. La principal hipótesis que se plantea es la caracterización del policial colombiano en la novela La mujer que sabía demasiado de Silvia Galvis. Teniendo en cuenta la naturaleza del estudio se usó la técnica de investigación cualitativa, realizada por medio del método deductivo. Hay dos momentos en la investigación: el primero, a partir de un acercamiento a las raíces históricas y teóricas del género policiaco. Segundo, se presenta el análisis de la novela elegida para verificar si existe correspondencia entre las características de la novela policial colombiana con las presentes en la novela de Galvis. This article is the result of research whose central axis studies the detective novel / crime novel. The main hypothesis that arises is the characterization of the Colombian police officer in the novel The Woman Who Knew Too Much about Silvia Galvis. Taking into account the nature of the study, the qualitative research technique was used, carried out by means of the deductive method. There are two moments in the investigation: the first, from an approach to the historical and theoretical roots of the police genre. Second, the analysis of the novel chosen is presented to verify whether there is a correspondence between the characteristics of the Colombian police novel with those present in Galvis's novel.
