Descripción :	O presente artigo debate as relações entre cultura e modernidade, a partir da epistemologia das ciências sociais e sua incidência nos atuais dilemas da filosofia política. Assim, procura-se compreender se a noção de emancipação pode ser resgatada na análise das dinâmicas culturais, conforme a passagem da modernidade para a pós-modernidade desdobra-se em termos de novos sujeitos e fronteiras fluidas, desfazendo as noções de estrutura social, de território e de Estado. O texto reforça a necessidade de composição de um novo paradigma de reconhecimento que vá para além das prerrogativas críticas estabelecidas nas ciências sociais, ou seja, considerando as diferenças culturais como ponto de apoio. Entende-se que essa opção tende a assegurar tanto a identidade do sujeito subalterno como a possibilidade de construção de sua representação política. This article aims to discuss the relations between culture and Modenity, from the epistemology of the social sciences and their impact on current dilemas of political philosophy. Thus, it seek to understand if the notion of emancipation can be redeemed in the analysis of cultural dynamics, as the passage from modernity to postmodernity unfold in terms of new subjects and fluid borders, undoing the notions of social structure, territory and State. In this regard, it reinforces the need for composition of a new recognition paradigm that goes beyond the critical prerrogatives already estabilished in the social sciences, in other words, considering the cultural differences as foothold. It is understood that this option tends to ensure both the identity of the subaltern subject, as the possibility of building its political representation
