Descripción :	Esta tesis de maestría presenta un estudio de carácter exploratorio de la interacción de maestras y estudiantes con computadores en tres cursos multigrado pertenecientes a tres diferentes escuelas de una misma institución educativa en el área rural de Valledupar. En el marco teórico se describen algunas características de las TIC y su relación con el aprendizaje a nivel general. También se discute su uso en el proceso enseñanza – aprendizaje de cursos multigrado, y se presenta una caracterización de este tipo de población educativa, lo mismo que un panorama de la educación rural en Colombia. El diseño de investigación fue de corte cualitativo, los sujetos estudiados fueron las maestras a cargo de cada una de las escuelas, a las cuales se aplicaron encuestas y entrevistas. La información obtenida fue analizada de acuerdo con cuatro categorías (Arancibia y Carrasco, 2006): discurso informático, tipo de interacción con los computadores, recursos informáticos utilizados e innovación. También fue sometida a un proceso de categorización, del cual emergieron seis nuevas categorías: dinamismo, motivación, trabajo colaborativo, manejo simultáneo de diferentes cursos, manejo simultáneo de diferentes áreas y presentación de nuevos contenidos. En las conclusiones se expone un balance del uso de los computadores en las escuelas estudiadas, y se sugieren nuevas líneas de investigación que permitan ahondar en el uso de los computadores para fortalecer el proceso educativo de cursos multigrados en el área rural. The theoretical framework describes some characteristics of ICT and its relationship with learning at a general level. Its use in the teaching-learning process of multigrade courses is also discussed, and a characterization of this type of educational population is presented, as well as a panorama of rural education in Colombia. The research design was qualitative, the subjects studied were the teachers in charge of each of the schools, to which surveys and interviews were applied. The information obtained was analyzed according to four categories (Arancibia and Carrasco, 2006): computer discourse, type of interaction with computers, computer resources used and innovation. It was also subjected to a categorization process, from which six new categories emerged: dynamism, motivation, collaborative work, simultaneous management of different courses, simultaneous management of different areas, and presentation of new content. In the conclusions, a balance of the use of computers in the schools studied is presented, and new lines of research are suggested that allow deepening the use of computers to strengthen the educational process of multigrade courses in rural areas.
