dc.descriptionThis paper aims to investigate a legend concerning the Cueva Cerdaña, a karst cave located in the Province of Castellón (Comunitat Valenciana), occupied for human activities in the Bronze Age and, due to its characteristics, used as a cave-sanctuary for female deities worship during the Iberian era. The legend tells of a sibyl from Sardinia who lived in the cave, therefore testifying, in the oral tradition of the area, the knowledge of defined facets of Sardinian Prehistory.The article analyses texts and documents, probing the established links between Sardinia and the Province of Castellón in order to shed light on the legend.en-US
dc.descriptionIl presente articolo si propone di indagare una leggenda che riguarda la Cueva Cerdaña, grotta carsica ubicata nella Provincia di Castellón (Comunitat Valenciana), occupata durante l’età del Bronzo e, per le sue caratteristiche, divenuta grotta-santuario in epoca iberica, oggetto di culti connessi probabilmente con divinità femminili. La leggenda narra di una sibilla della Sardegna che avrebbe dimorato nella grotta e pertanto costituirebbe l’attestazione, nella tradizione orale della zona, della conoscenza di determinate caratteristiche della Preistoria sarda. L’articolo prende in esame testi e documenti, sondando i legami accertati tra la Sardegna e la Provincia di Castellón, al fine di far luce sulla leggenda.it-IT
