dc.descriptionThe trilogy Memórias. Um Combate pela Liberdade is the testimony of Edmundo Pedro (1918-2018), a Portuguese anti-fascist who was imprisoned, tortured and held incommunicado several times during the Estado Novo. He was imprisoned in several prisons in Portugal and for nine years in the Tarrafal concentration camp, created by the Portuguese state in Cape Verde, in 1936. He was fifteen years old the first time he was arrested and fifty- nine the last time, already during the democracy. His testimony gives an insight into many aspects of the life of a member of anti-fascist resistance and the structures and methods of containment used to try to annihilate the opposition. The role played by certain stylistic featuresof the narrative is highlighted in the essay. Um Combate pela Liberdade constituye el testimonio de Edmundo Pedro (1918-2018), antifascista portugués que fue varias veces encarcelado, torturado y mantenido en régimen de incomunicación durante el Estado Novo. Fue prisionero en varias instituciones carcelarias en Portugal y pasó nueve años en el campo de concentración de Tarrafal, creados por el Estado portugués en Cabo Verde en el año 1936. La primera vez que fue detenido tenía quince años, y la última, ya en democracia, cincuenta y nueve. Su testimonio permite conocer desde dentro muchos aspectos de la vida de un resistente a la dictadura y de las estructuras y métodos de contención utilizados con el objetivo de aniquilar a la oposición. Se subraya el papel de algunos rasgos estilísticos de la narración y el valor de esta trilogía para la constitución de la memoria colectiva.es-ES
