Descripción :	The reflections on the figure of Caliban have been fruitful in Latin American thought, especially in terms of utopia as a political horizon, but the image of the zombie has been present basically in cinematographic narratives. In the present text, I try to highlight the contrasts that we can find between the zombie narrative and the proposal of the philosopher Horacio Cerutti who assumes the task of liberation from what no living dead can do: think. It is by contrasting the figure of the zombie with that of the day dreamer as we could find clues that allow a liberating thought that starts from a meticulous analysis of the current situation, as well as the value of the political and sociocultural models that from that analysis they detach, to live in a truly human way. Las reflexiones en torno a la figura de Calibán han sido fructíferas en el pensamiento latinoamericano, en especial en cuanto a la utopía como horizonte político se refiere, pero la imagen del zombi ha estado presente básicamente en narrativas cinematográficas. En el presente texto, intento poner de relieve los contrastes que podemos hallar entre la narrativa zombi y la propuesta del filósofo Horacio Cerutti que asume la tarea de la liberación a partir de lo que ningún muerto viviente es capaz de hacer: pensar. Es mediante el contraste de la figura del zombi con la del soñador diurno como podríamos hallar claves que permitan un pensar liberador que parte de un análisis meticuloso de la situación actual, así como del valor que tienen los modelos políticos y socioculturales que de ese análisis se desprenden, para vivir de manera realmente humana.
