dc.descriptionDefinimos el concepto de "ritual del lector devoto" como aquellas acciones más o menos complejas y codificadas que realizan lectores que atribuyen a un autor y a su obra un aura de trascendencia; estas acciones o rituales pueden ser de alta intensidad (Bloomsday) o de baja (visita a la tumba de Joyce) y son siempre irracionales. Hemos querido estudiar estos rituales en la obra de Augusto Monterroso y Bárbara Jacobs para responder a las siguientes preguntas: ¿qué obras y autores son los recipientes de su lectura devota?, ¿qué hacen para establecer el diálogo con sus ídolos y sus obras?, y ¿por qué deciden escribir estos rituales y publicarlos, a su vez, en libros? Nuestro enfoque teórico se da desde la relación interdisciplinaria entre sociología y cultura de Pierre Bourdieu, Pascale Casanova y Jeffrey C. Alexander.es-ES
dc.descriptionWe have coined the concept "ritual of a devout reader" in order to define all actions that are somehow codified by the idolization of an author and his/her work. These actions may be highly (Bloomsday) or lowly (visit of Joyce’s grave) codified. They are all conducted by devout readers who believe the author and his/her work to have an aura of uniqueness; and they are all unreasonable. This article focuses on the work of Augusto Monterroso and Bárbara Jacobs in order to answer the following questions: ¿Who are the texts and authors that deserve their faithful reading?, ¿What do they do in order to establish a dialogue with their idols and their work? and ¿Why do they decide to write about these rituals and publish them? Our theoretical approach follows the interdisciplinary work of Pierre Bourdieu, Pascale Casanova and Jeffrey C. Alexander.en-US
