dc.descriptionThe archipelago of San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina has been a place commonly  haracterised by the image of a recreational tropical paradise which is visited and “known” in a three day all-inclusive tour, a time length clearly inadequate in order to understand the impact exerted by history on this people that lives facing daily the sea. The archipelago’s history has not been oblivious to the current reality of the country but, on the other hand, the country has been oblivious to the context and the needs of the islands. In a particular way, the armed conflict has tinted with blood the recent years of its history, leaving an indelible painful groove to its population.Through this paper I seek an approximation to the context and characterization of the forms of violence that have appeared in the archipelago as a consequence of the Colombian armed conflict. Given that the insular territory has taken up an important role in the logistics of illegal drugs traffic, which is the main financial source of the various irregular armed groups, it is important to add visibility to the different manifestations of violence appeared from this scourge, leaving an uncountable number of victims who have not been formally recognized by the State institutions.en-US
dc.descriptionEl archipiélago de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina ha sido lugar reconocido generalmente por la imagen de un paraíso tropical vacacional al que se visita y “conoce” en un tour todo incluido de tres días, periodo en el que no se logra comprender el impacto que la historia ha tenido en este pueblo que vive su cotidianidad de cara al mar. La historia del archipiélago no ha sido ajena a la realidad del país, aunque por el contrario, el país ha estado ajeno al contexto y a las necesidades de las islas. Particularmente, el conflicto armado ha marcado con sangre los últimos años de su historia, dejando un surco imborrable y doloroso para sus pobladores.A través de este documento busco una aproximación al contexto y a la caracterización de las formas de violencia que se han configurado en el archipiélago como consecuencia del conflicto armado colombiano. Dado que el territorio insular ha ocupado un lugar importante dentro de la logística del tráfico de las drogas ilícitas, principal fuente de financiamiento de los distintos grupos armados ilegales, es importante visibilizar las diferentes expresiones de violencia que han surgido por este flagelo, dejando un sinnúmero de víctimas no reconocidas formalmente ante entes estataleses-ES
