The increase of emergency situations derived from the occurrence of disasters is a topic that is generating more and more attention on the part of the governments, the organizations of humanitarian aid and the academic community. Inside the attention to the emergencies, the humanitarian logistics plays an important role. The humanitarian logistics is a complex process that it involves multiple actors, activities and challenges, which make her different from the conventional logistics. Because, in the context of the attention of disasters, the conventional logistics is unable to face the challenges that the humanitarian attention imposes, in the last years an important number of academic contributions has arisen in order to provide progress opportunities in the field of study. In this sense, the present article exhibits a review of the state of the art in order to identify concepts and excellent tendencies on humanitarian logistics.en-US
