| dc.description | Researchers’ interest in the Amazon basin was born more than a hundred years ago. Since then, the contexts from which research questions emerge, as well as the assumptions on which they are supported have constantly changed. This article identifies and makes a brief sketch of the emphases and the most salient questions in the field of archaeology, examining them from their relationship with anthropology. However, this is not an exhaustive review of the published materials; rather, it is an introductory synthesis to some of the most important ideas that have guided the research. | en-US |
