| Descripción : | El interés central de este artículo es plantear una reflexión acerca de la construcción de las diferencias étnicas y sociales entre los habitantes de Nuevo Ixcatlán, poblado mazateco fundado en 1955 en el municipio veracruzano de Playa Vicente, ubicado en un espacio regional multiétnico de reciente colonización. Dicha localidad se conformó a partir de la movilización impulsada por el Estado mexicano a partir de la construcción de la presa hidroeléctrica Miguel Alemán en el estado de Oaxaca. Interesa mostrar la existencia de formas variadas que expresan las diferencias étnicas en Nuevo Ixcatlán, asumiendo que la vida social y política, y la memoria de sus habitantes, son construcciones dinámicas y cambiantes. Interethnic Dynamics in the Building of a Local Space in the Sotavento Veracruzano: A Mazateca Village in Playa VicenteThe central idea behind this article is a reflection on the construction of ethnic and social differences among the inhabitants of Nuevo Ixcatlán, Mazateca village founded in 1955 in the Veracruz municipio of Playa Vicente, a region of recent multi-ethnic colonization. This community grew under the aegis of the Mexican State during the construction of the Miguel Alemán hydro-electric plant in the state of Oaxaca. The text presents the varied forms of ethnic difference manifest in Nuevo Ixcatlán, studied under the assumption that social and political life and the inhabitants’ memory are dynamic and changing constructs. |
